Kitáb-i-Aqdas

Study Guide
Foreword
This material has been produced as a deepening tool for studying the Kitáb-i-Aqdas.
‘Abdu’l-Bahá advises us to “investigate and study the Holy Scriptures word by word” so that “we may attain knowledge of the mysteries hidden therein”. (Promulgation of Universal Peace p. 459)
This study guide goes through the book from beginning to end, asking questions, suggesting parts to memorise and completing quotations. It is suitable for both individual and group discussion. Reference to the Notes, Questions and Answers and the Synopsis and Codification will have to be made, however, these are clearly marked before each Question. There is now available a Concordance to The Kitáb-i-Aqdas by Lee Nelson which can be used with this study guide.
It is well known that when being asked questions, writing out the answers helps to facilitate learning.
If you have any suggestions on ways that this study guide could be improved there is a feedback link at the bottom of each page.
There is some useful information for facilitators and participants adapted from ‘Australians for Reconciliation Study Circle Kit,’ produced by the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation.
I would like to give special thanks to Ennis Bailey for proof reading this Guide and offering many valuable suggestions towards its improvment.

May the friends of God ever be mindful of its exalted rank among the sacred texts of the Faith; treasure it as the bread of life; regard possession of it as a sacred honour, as a priceless legacy from the Pen of the Most High, as a source of God’s greatest bounty to His creatures; place their whole trust in its provisions; recite its verses; study its contents; adhere to its exhortations; and thus transform their lives in accordance with the divine standard.
