Date:
12 Sulṭán 168 B.E. (30 January, 2012)
Update:
Rebuild of the two pages ‘Volumes’ and ‘Compilations, Documents’ completed and uploaded.

Date:
12 Sulṭán 168 B.E. (29 January, 2012)
Update:
The index pages for decisions, guidance and advice from the Universal House of Justice have been updated.

Date:
11 Sulṭán 168 B.E. (29 January, 2012)
Update:
This update sees the completion of the rebuild of the Related Indices. The rebuilt pages have been uploaded as they were completed, so those who visited since the last notified update will have seen the progression as it happened.
• Corrected the link in the Related Index under ‘Other References / Universal House of Justice’ for Paragraph 30. It now goes to the The Constitution of the Universal House of Justice rather than to information about the Universal House of Justice. This aligns the link with the information in Notes 49 and 51.
• Added new link in Related Indices for Paragraph 32 under ‘Other References’ to advice from the Universal House of Justice regarding exemptions.
• Entry for ‘Mithqál’ added to Related Indices for Paragraph 49.
• Added entry for ‘Prayer for the Dead’ to the Related index for Question and Answer 70
• Corrected the link to page 95 regarding the authority of the Universal House of Justice. It now goes to Note 95. My appreciation to the National Office of the Baha'is of Australia for their assistance in correcting this error.

Date:
8 Sharaf 168 B.E. (6 January, 2012)
Update:
This update sees the completion of the rebuild of the Study Guide. The rebuilt pages have been uploaded as they were completed, so those who visited over the last Bahá’í month will have seen the progression as it happened.
Over the next period of work, the focus will be on the Related Indices. Again, pages will be uploaded as they are updated, with an announcement of completion at the end.

Date:
8 Masá’il 168 B.E. (19 December, 2011)
Update:
• Completed the rebuild of the A-Z in the new format.
• Added a new quote to the entry page.
Over the next period of work, the Study Guide will be rebuilt. Pages will be uploaded as they are updated, with an announcement of completion at the end.

Date:
6 Masá’il 168 B.E. (16 December, 2011)
Update:
• Updated ‘Key to Passages Translated by Shoghi Effendi’
Work now commences on the A-Z indices. These pages will be uploaded as they are completed. The first of these (A) is included in this update.
• Fixed a broken link to the ‘Synopsis and Codification’ from the entry Assistance / divine.

Date:
4 Masá’il 168 B.E. (14 December, 2011)
Update:
• Updated the Glossary

Date:
3 Masá’il 168 B.E. (14 December, 2011)
Update:
In a similar fashion as the ‘Questions and Answers’, as a group of 10 or more notes was rebuilt, they were uploaded.
• Corrected numerous inconsistencies in presentation (bolding, italics, etc)
• Many small corrections to punctuation (mostly putting in missing full-stops, or taking them out according to the hardcopy). Also a small number of spelling errors fixed.
• Updated the link style in the notes. Links will now show underlined in a slightly darker shade of dark green, to differentiate them from the text and from the other underlinings in the text. Links will still change to red when the mouse cursor is placed over them.
• Also changed the link color to this same green on all the upper level pages.
• Changed the style of the navigation "buttons" that appear at the bottom (and sometimes the top) of every page. They are now functional over the entire area visually defined. Colour remains the same golden as the remainder of the text.

Date:
12 Qawl 168 B.E. (3 December, 2011)
Update:
• Updated the section ‘Synopsis and Codification of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas’ to the new appearance.
• Small corrections to punctuation (mostly putting in missing full-stops, or taking them out according to the hardcopy).
• Added the note just below the title of the update pages to advise the reason for discrepancies on occasion between the Bahá’í and Gregorian dates

Date:
9 Qawl 168 B.E. (2 December, 2011)
Update:
Those visiting since the last update may have noticed that the Questions and Answers were being progressively updated. Every time 10 were completed, they were immediately uploaded, with the last group being uploaded today.
• Updated the section ‘Question’s and Answers’ to the new appearance.
• Added keywords to each Question and Answer. How effective the choice of words will be only time will tell.
• More small corrections to spelling.

Date:
6 Qawl 168 165 B.E. (28 November, 2011)
Update:
• Updated the ‘ Supplementary Texts’ to the new appearance.

Date:
5 Qawl 168 165 B.E. (27 November, 2011)
Update:
A long gap since the last work was done. Various reasons, including health.
• This is primarily an update to the appearance of the site. To this one's eyes, it was starting to look dated. A better understanding of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and advances in Style Sheets, have meant that fewer images needed to be utilised, and the amount of code behind the site is also reduced.
At this upload, perhaps 60% of the entry pages, and all of the Paragraphs have been updated.
Note that the bulk of the site has not yet been touched in this review, so please expect to navigate through a mixture of the old and new as you explore, until everything has been updated.
• Once again, the meta-data (keywords and descriptions) is being surveyed. Quite a number of pages have been found to lack keywords; these are being added at the same time. As well, spelling errors have been fixed in the existing keywords.
• Small errors in spelling fixed.

Date:
15 Asmá’ 165 B.E. (2 September 2008)
Update:
Though there does not appear to be much in the way of new material being added to the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project, there is much happening in the background :
• The Text is being proofread as the other work (see below) is carried out. Various spelling and other errors are being corrected.
• At long last, the feedback link has been added to the bottom of every page.
• Very slowly, every page is being revisted and an examination of the meta-data (keywords and descriptions) is being carried out. It is hoped that the changes being made in the area of the meta-data will make it more certain that a person searching through any of the Search Engines on the Internet will more readily find any specifics that they are seeking.
• Updates are being uploaded as they are made, though no announcement is being made of each one.

Date:
11 Kamál 165 B.E. (10 August 2008)
Update:
Another update focussed on keywords and on adding the feedback link to the bottom of further pages. Fixed a spelling error.

Date:
10 Kamál 165 B.E. (9 August 2008)
Update:
• This update is focussed more on the coding of some of the pages (the remainder still to be done), with a focus on better enabling the location of specific subject matter via the search engines. That said, the bulk of the pages have still to be similarly treated.
• The notable exception to the background updates has been to Paragraph 20, where it was found that the entire reference to the brothers had been omitted. Now fixed.

Date:
4 Núr 165 B.E. (8 June 2008)
Update:
• A further five of the Paragraphs have been cross-referenced with Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh
• Feedback links are now in place for all the original Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project files, and all the ‘Related’ indices have been done.

Date:
8 ‘Azamat 165 B.E. (24 May 2008)
Update:
• Cross-referencing of Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh with the Most Holy Book has begun via the ‘Related’ indices. The first five Paragraphs have been completed with this release. The choice of references included is quite likely to be incomplete, as it relies on my own often-in-error judgement.
• Over a period of time, a feedback link will be placed at the bottom of every page, to make it easier for any person who wishes to provide feedback without needing to search through the site for an email address. The link will be found at the bottom of the page below the navigation icons. With this release a small start has been made; it will take time to update the more than two and a half thousand pages that currently make up the Kitab-i-Aqdas Project.
• In relation to the above dot point, please be aware that the first time you send an email to any of the Kitab-i-Aqdas Project addresses, you will receive an automated email from my anti-spam system asking you to click the link found in that email to show that you are a person, not a spammer. This will only occur on the first email you send, thereafter the mail server will recognise the email address you have used as legitimate, no matter which of the Kitab-i-Aqdas Project addresses you send to. The process will only need to be repeated should you later send from a different email address.

Date:
12 Jamál 165 B.E. (8 May 2008)
Update:
More of a report on the various uploads made since the previous release, the last stage of which occured tonight.
• The ‘Notes’ and the alpha indices to Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh are now completed. Though available for some weeks, the links to the Text took a little longer. The last of these pages has been uploaded tonight.
• The remodelled ‘Comprehensive’ indices went online on the 3 May, but knowing that the work on Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh (as noted above) was almost complete, did not record it as an update at that time. Dissatisfaction with the previous format was stated in the last update. In the new format, each Theme has its own page, readily accessible from a simplified A-Z. Themes can be navigated in alphabetical order from ‘Previous’/‘Next’ icons at the bottom of each page, or directly from the relevant portion of the A-Z.
• In response to feedback, the term ‘Access’ on the top level pages has been changed to ‘Enter’. My thanks to Brett for his valued contribution.
• Changed the text for two links on the top level pages, for better asthetics. ‘Update history’ becomes simply ‘Updates’, while ‘Release notes’ is now just ‘Notes’. The textual spacing across this menu is now more proportional.

Date:
11 ‘Alá 164 B.E. (11 March 2008)
Update:
• Added all remaining Textual portions of Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh to the Kitab-i-Aqdas Project. These actually went online about a week ago, anticipating that the remainder of this release would also go online sooner than it has. The A-Z, Notes, Preface etc. are still to be added, as is a page index.
• Some small corrections to Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh to fix errors made by this self in the initial transcription of these Texts into the Kitab-i-Aqdas Project.
• Added references from Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh to comparative entries in the ‘Comprehensive’ indices for the existing entries for ‘B’ and ‘C’, along with all their link-outs. This process has shown a flaw in the current application of the concept (some of the lists have become very long), so consideration is being given to how to improve how the indices are merged together.
• Changed the backgrounds. The page background has retained its previous style but been made lighter, while the background behind the roses at the top of these introductory pages has been changed altogether.

Date:
12 Mulk 164 B.E. (17 February 2008)
Update:
• Added references from Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh to the existing entries in the ‘Comprehensive’ indices from ‘Aa’ to ‘Az’.
Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh - added ‘Lawh-i-Burhán (Tablet of the Proof)’, ‘Asl-i-Kullu'l-Khayr (Words of Wisdom)’, ‘Lawh-i-Ard-i-Bá (Tablet of the Land of Bá)’ and some portions from ‘Exerpts from other Tablets’. These were added as they became referenced from the ‘Comprehensive’ indices. The templates for most of the remaining sections are in place, and will be filled over the next few releases.
• Created a stand-alone ‘Contents’ page into the currently included sections of Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh. This new page page is accessed via the ‘Volumes’ page. Sufficient entries have now been included to allow in-depth preparation for the addition of the remainder of the Volume, including the Preface, Notes and A-Z indices.

Date:
11 Mulk 164 B.E. (16 February 2008)
Update:
• All of the letter ‘A’ from the A-Z of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas has now been included in the ‘Comprehensive’ indices, plus all the link-outs to related references. A notation has been added to each page from ‘Aa’ to ‘Az’ where no references are available in the original; relevant material from other related sources will be included on these pages in the future as they come to hand. The bulk of additional references are from Lights of Guidance, and a smattering of other Works.
• ‘Tarázát (Ornaments)’ from Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh has been added to the list of works from this volume that have been included in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project, as it has been referenced from an entry in the ‘Comprehensive’ indices. The full document can be accessed from the page ‘Volumes’. There will be an additional focus with the next few releases to include links to more of Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh within the ‘Comprehensive’ indices.

Date:
4 Mulk 164 B.E. (10 February 2008)
Update:
• More material added to the Comprehensive indices, from ‘Angels’ to ‘Art(s)’, including the link-outs to related references.
• A tiny correction (the addition of a space) in the index for the letter ‘A’ of the original A-Z.

Date:
11 Sultán 164 B.E. (28 January 2008)
Update:
• Another (small, this time) update to the Comprehensive indices, from ‘Absolution of sins’ to ‘Amity’, along with all the link-outs. Some remodelling of the original indices has been done, and a number of additional entries have been added to the index to improve cross-linking and cross-referencing between the Themes and Subjects.
• A change to the physical display of the links found in all the indices. The underlining has been removed, though the colour has remained blue. This has been done to present a cleaner appearance to the lists and links, and bring the physical appearace closer to that of a paper version, without losing the indication of which text is a link. Future releases will see the removal of further underlining under other links.
• Added a link to the “Bahá’í Toolbar” to the list of links on the ‘Other’ page.

Date:
18 Sharaf 164 B.E. (17 January 2008)
Update:
• A bit more of the ‘Comprehensive’ indices online. I know that on the 24 June last Gregorian year I said that there would be numerous small updates to these indices, but with the hours required for my employment and the focus on completing other work on the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project, this became impossible. This is a larger update than originally anticipated due to the scope of the entries included - what started as a simple referral from ‘Abrogation of laws and practices’ turned into an major exercise that included links to a large amount of related and unrelated material.

Date:
19 Mashíyyat 164 B.E. (14 October 2007)
Update:
• The last stage in the update for which the first stage was released on 6 October 2007. Originally anticipated to take two to three weeks to complete, sufficent consecutive blocks of time were found to be available to make a concerted effort.
• This release sees the remainder of Barbara Collins’ Study Guide to the Kitáb-i-Aqdas completed. A link to the first page has been added to the main Table of Contents page.
• The Related indices have been extended, and now include the Preface, the Introduction and the Description by Shoghi Effendi.
• An apology to those who may have tried to access the Related indices via the link from the Table of Contents, only to be taken to a page to say that that page had been deleted. In the original release on 6 October, this link had been forgotten. It is now fixed and will take you to the first page of the Related indices (that for the Preface).
• Some errors found in the A-Z indices have been fixed - extraneous characters, a link that was not correctly formed, and some other small errors.

Date:
16 Mashíyyat 164 B.E. (11 October 2007)
Update:
• A continuation of the last release on 6 October 2007.
This small update sees all of the sections of the Study Guide for the Questions and Answers completed. Still to come are all the sections prior to the Paragraphs.

Date:
10 Mashíyyat 164 B.E. (6 October 2007)
Update:
° In terms of the number of pages, this release is a large one.In summary, around 300 existing pages have been updated, while there have been approximately 620 new pages created. Of these 920 odd pages, there are around 120 pages still in progress, to be placed online in the near future. In detail for this release:
• the ‘Related’ indices have been completely rebuilt from the ground up, with a separate page for each Paragraph and for each Question and Answer. This change is needed to allow the inclusion of the HTML version of the Study Guide, to reduce the clutter of having multiple sections listed one after the other, and provide the facility for the inclusion of links to other related references. Navigation forward and backward through the pages of the ‘Related’ indices has also been included.
• the HTML version of the Study Guide for all the Paragraphs has been included. These are linked from both the Paragraphs, and from the ‘Related’ indices. One can also navigate forward and backward through the pages of the Study Guide.
• links have been added to all the relevant existing pages to both the ‘Related’ indices and the Study Guide.
• new icons have been created.
• numerous errors have been fixed in the .pdf version of the Study Guide.
° Still under development and thus not included with this release, all the pages of the HTML version of the Study Guide for the Questions and Answers, as well as all portions of the Study Guide prior to the Paragraphs. The pages of the HTML version of the Study Guide for these sections carries a link to the .pdf version of the Study Guide instead. Also still to be added is a direct link from the ‘Table of Contents’ page to the start of HTML version of the Study Guide.
° Barbara is in the process of extensively rewriting the Study Guide. The preliminary work I have seen leaves me very excited. Feedback that may assist in this rewite will be most welcome. She may be contacted by writing to her via the feedback email address.

Date:
2 Rahmat 164 B.E. (24 June 2007)
Update:
• A small update, with the inclusion of the first entries in the ‘Comprehensive’ indices. There will be numerous of these type of releases outside of any usual pattern of release - as entries are added, they will be uploaded as soon as possible. There will be no public announcements/notifications of these small updates outside of this ‘Update history’, so please watch this page.
• This release sees the inclusion of the first four entries under ‘A’ in the existing A-Z of “The Kitáb-i-Aqdas”, with the inclusion of relevant references to “Lights of Guidance” and to the “Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá”. These entries also required the inclusion of some entries under ‘H’ and under ‘S’.

Date:
15 Núr 164 B.E. (19 June 2007)
Update:
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 171 through to Note 194 inclusive. This completes the Notes. See the ‘Release notes’ page for further comments.
• Added ‘A Study Guide for the Kitáb-i-Aqdas’ by Barbara Collins, accessible from the ‘Compilations, Documents’ page under the general heading of ‘Other Documents’. This Study Guide can be viewed, printed and/or downloaded from this page.
• Added the letter from the Universal House of Justice dated 5 March 1993 regarding the publication of The Kitáb-i-Aqdas.

Date:
13 Jalál 164 B.E. (20 April 2007)
Update:
• A major release, which sees sees the achievement of another milestone in the development of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project with the inclusion of almost the entirety of Lights of Guidance. The ‘Bibliography’ has still to be created and should be online with the next release, but its absence in no way detracts from the usefulness or functionality of this electronic version. The Indices at the rear of the book are included and fully functional, as are subsidiary indices not found in the hardcopy. Further information can be found on the ‘Application Notes’ page included with this version, which page also carries acknowledgements and thank you’s.
Portions of Lights of Guidance are referenced and linked from various of the Notes; it can also be accessed as a stand-alone work separate from the Kitáb-i-Aqdas via the ‘Compilations, Documents’ page (which is linked from the main ‘Table of Contents’).
This milestone will also see the start of a new stage in development, where newly created indices will be used to place this volume (along with others to be so dealt with in the future) into a supportive explanatory and elucidating role to the Kitáb-i-Aqdas. I have placed the pages for these indices online now linked from the ‘Table of Contents’, even though empty of entries, in preparation for this new stage of growth.
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 151 through to Note 170 inclusive.
• Extended the dictionary into Paragraphs 18 and 19.
• Linked every occurance of the word ‘Dayspring’ in The Kitáb-i-Aqdas to Section 1582 of Lights of Guidance.
• Added ‘Lawh-i-Siyyid-Mihdíy-i-Dahají (Tablet to Siyyid Mihdíy-i-Dahají)’ from the volume Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh. Also added ‘Lawh-i-Hikmat (Tablet of Wisdom)’ as the ‘Lawh-i-Siyyid-Mihdíy-i-Dahají’ makes reference to Nabíl-i-Akbar and refers the reader to the beginning of the ‘Lawh-i-Hikmat’. These are both accessible from the ‘Volumes’ page (via the ‘Table of Contents’ page).
• Included the Hidden Words, which is referenced from some sections of Lights of Guidance. Accessible also via the ‘Volumes’ page (from the main ‘Table of Contents’ page).
• References in Note 160 taken from God Passes By and from The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh located and linked to from this Note.
• Added section 129 from Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, referenced from Note 170
• Included extract from The Advent of Divine Justice regarding chastity (pages 29 to 30), referenced from Note 170
• Included from Epistle to the Son of the Wolf a section from pages 39 to 42, part of which is referenced from Note 160.
• Added chapter 74 from Some Answered Questions, linked from Section 1772 of Lights of Guidance
• I would like to list here the currently included sections from Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh that have either been slowly accruing over the past few years but not been so marked in the update history, or that have been linked to in this major update. These are referenced from the Notes and from Lights of Guidance (though no further indexing or other means of access has yet been created for them other than from the place they are referenced - these will be created at a later stage of development as more of Gleanings... is included).
° XIV, XXII, XXVII, XXXII, LII, LXVIII, LXXXI, LXXXII, LXXXVI, XCII, XCIII, CXIII, CXXV, CXXVIII
• Provided a link from the quote on the uppermost page of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project directly to the source in Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh. It can be accessed by clicking on the page number in the text that identifies the source.

Date:
5 Bahá 164 B.E. (24 March 2007)
Update:
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 141 through to Note 150 inclusive.
• Extended the dictionary into Paragraphs 16 and 17.
• Included the sections from Lights of Guidance relating to burial, and to the laws on alchohol, linked from Notes 149 and 144 respectively. Note that, till the full volume is made available in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project, some of the links contained within the various pages already online from Lights of Guidance may not work but are in place for when the remainder of the work is complete.
• Added ‘Tajallíyát (Effulgences)’ from the volume Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh as it is referenced from Lights of Guidance. Though Lights of Guidance is still in preparation (it is estimated another five to six months work may still be required), there was no reason not to make this section from Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh available now. It can also be accessed directly from the main menu via the link to ‘Volumes’.
• Included various sections from The Compilations of Compilations as referenced from Notes 141 to 150.

Date:
3 Ayyám-i-Há (Intercalary) 163 B.E. (28 February 2007)
Update:
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 131 through to Note 140 inclusive
• Added mp3 audio files for all the remaining Paragraphs, from 166 to 190 inclusive. To listen to all 190 Paragraphs will take approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, not counting the time it takes to be downloaded to your computer.
• Added the section on ‘Homosexuality’ from the volume Lights of Guidance; it is referred to from Note 134. Work still continues on the remainder of the volume, with formatting of the sections and the inclusion of the index that exists at the back of the hardcopy not expected to be completed for some months yet.

Update:
• Extended access to the English dictionary into Paragraphs 11 and 12
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 91 through to Note 100 inclusive
• Added mp3 audio files for Paragraphs 41 to 90 inclusive

Date:
9 Qawl 163 BE (1 December 2006)
Update:
• Extended access to the English dictionary into Paragraph 10
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 81 through to Note 90 inclusive.

Date:
3 Qawl 163 BE (25 November 2006)
Update:
• An update of the audio files – mp3 audio files are now available up to and including Paragraph 40.

Date:
11 Qudrat 163 BE (14 November 2006)
Update:
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 71 through to Note 80 inclusive. Some not included, though sure that have seen them before, were unable to be located and will need to be added later.
• In the process of adding the referenced Texts, entire Tablets/Chapters/Sections from Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh have been included. This release sees the inclusion of the Tablet of Ishráqát (Splendours) in Note 75, making a total of six Tablets from this Volume now referenced. A section has been added to the ‘Compilations and Other Documents’ page to hold direct links to these Sections, and the page renamed to ‘Compilations and Other Documents/Volumes’.
• Extended the dictionary into Paragraph 9
• Added further mp3 audio audio files. Opportunity was had for the recording of only two paragraphs, being Pararaphs 21 and 22.
The .iso file has still not been updated since the release of 10 October 2006, as still awaiting the connection to broadband. The latest from the Internet Service Provider is that the service is expected to be available by Christmas (on current schedules).

Date:
11 ‘Ilm 163 BE (26 October 2006)
Update:
A smaller update, due to the focus on preparing the volume Lights of Guidance for inclusion. Updates are:
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 61 through to Note 70 inclusive
• Extended the dictionary into Paragraph 8
• Added further mp3 audio audio files, from Pararaphs 11 to 20 inclusive.
• Remade the graphics used for navigation icons - now with a cleaner, lighter look - and fixed the positioning of the speaker icon.
The .iso file has not been updated with this release, the main reason being that, as am not yet on broadband, it takes a long time to upload what will now be a 22Mb file (including the 20 audio files). It is expected that broadband will be available in the next month or so.

Date:
14 Mashíyyat 163 BE (10 October 2006)
Update:
• The Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project was moved to its own home on the 19 Asmá (7 September). This is its first release since that date. With the move to the new home, new mailboxes have been put in place for correspondence. Contact details will be found on the ‘Other’ page.
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 51 through to Note 60 inclusive
• Added the Synopsis and Codification of the Laws and Ordinances of the Kitab-i-Aqdas to the ‘Compilations and Other Documents’ page. More work is still required to the document, but the bulk of the work has been completed.
• Extended the dictionary into Paragraph 7
• Added the first of the audio files, from Pararaphs 1 to 10 inclusive. Audio is in mp3 format, and is accessed by clicking on the speaker icon following after the Paragraph. File size and playing time will be seen by hovering the mouse over the speaker icon.
• Removed the page listing the additional references from the ‘Release notes’ page. It was considered that as, when any of these references are accessed, the source can be found at the end of each text, having a separate listing merely adds another chore to an already large workload, regardless the possible convenience of having a listing in a single place.
• Changed the structure of the ‘Update history’ page to show only the details of the latest release. To access information on all releases, a link will be found following the latest release details.

Date:

Date:
18 Rahmat 163 BE (11 July 2006)
Update:
Though a continuation of the last few releases, there has been a longer delay before availablility due to the level of work that has been required.
• Forward-indexed Questions and Answers 76 to 107 inclusive. This leaves only the Notes, the Supplementary Texts and the Synopsis and Codification still to do.
• Added to the ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ indices, documentation from the Universal House of Justice regarding:
° Inheritance and Wills
° the Universal House of Justice
° Health and Healing (including a compilation on Psychology and Knowledge of Self)
• Regenerated the ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ indices into individual alpha pages, in preparation for future expansion. All links adjusted accordingly. A subject index was inserted at the start of these indices
• Included the Constitution of the Universal House of Justice
• Included the Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
• Included currently available texts for references from Note 31 through to Note 40 inclusive
• Extended the English dictionary into Paragraph 5
• Added ‘Timepieces’ to the alpha indices under ‘T’
• Changed the ‘Index to Compilations’ to include links to other important documents, and updated the link text on the ‘Table of Contents’ page accordingly; the Constitution of the Universal House of Justice and the Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá appear on this page with this update
• Included the Glossary found in Messages 1963 to 1986. Links will appear throughout documents over time, but with this initial inclusion only one link, in the document from the Universal House of Justice dated 27 May 1966 (the Guardianship and the Universal House of Justice), has been made
• Small update to the titles of the alpha and ‘Related’ indices pages as appears in the Title bar at the top of the web browser

Date:
3 Núr 163 BE (7 June 2006)
Update:
• Forward-indexed Questions and Answers 51 to 75 inclusive

Date:
3 ‘Azamat 163 BE (18 May 2006)
Update:
• Fixed incorrect display of characters in alpha indices and in Memorandums’.
• Forward-indexed Questions and Answers 26 to 50 inclusive.
• Added links to further of the full texts that are referenced throughout the Notes, up to and including Note 10.
• Further additions to the ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ index with documents from the Universal House of Justice related to Obligatory Prayer. As some of these documents also relate to Fasting, the relevant entries were also made in this index at the same time under ‘Fasting’
• Created an index page titled ‘Index to Compilations’, accessible from the ‘Table of Contents’, to carry direct links to the compilations as they are added.
• Added the compilation The Importance of Obligatory Prayer and Fasting, linked to from both the ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ page and from the ‘Index to Compilations’ page.
• Extended the English dictionary into the third Paragraph.
• Added two new goals to the ‘WhatWhy’ page — the inclusion of study and training materials related to the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, and the inclusion of other authoritive works (books, treatises etc.) on the Kitáb-i-Aqdas.
• Updated the .iso file found on the ‘Other’ page to include these latest updates.

Date:
6 Jalál 163 BE (14 April 2006)
Update:
• A minor update, focussed on a rationalisation of the underlying structure of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas Project. Only one new file has been added (with the appropriate links created on the ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ page), the Ridván Message of 1992, announcing the imminent publication in English of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, and confirming the universal application of Huqúqu’lláh . An updated .iso file is available from the ‘Other’ page.

Date:
1 Jalál 163 BE (9 April 2006)
Update:
• The primary focus for this release has been to forward-index the first 25 Questions and Answers, and extend the dictionary into the second paragraph. These two goals are now achieved. It will be noticed that all the pages of the ‘Related’ indices have, even if still without entries, been included with this release; each new release should see another of these pages completed.
• A new page has been created, accessible from the ‘Table of Contents’, regarding advice, guidance, and decisions related specifically to the Most Holy Book, that have been released by the Universal House of Justice. Only references to Huqúqu’lláh and to exemptions have been included at this time; please be aware that these references are still incomplete. Where relevant, the ‘Related’ indices have been updated with an entry that goes to the new ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ page.
• The compilation on Huqúqu’lláh is now included. For now it is only accessible from the ‘Decisions, guidance and advice’ page, as its addition is the result of adding the documentation from the Universal House of Justice on Huqúqu’lláh. It should be noted that the compilation is all on one HTML page, so for those without broadband it will take a little longer to appear onscreen. It is planned to add a new index for the compilations in a future release.
• Throughout the Notes, excerpts from works by all the Central Figures have been quoted or referred to. A start has been made on including the full text of the source of these quotes or references. Again, a very large task, so it will be some time before the list of included texts becomes extensive. A full list of these included Texts can be seen by following the link on the ‘Release notes’ page.
• Regarding a downloadable version - this was added as an .iso file some weeks after the last release. This has been updated to the current release, and can be accessed from the ‘Other’ page. With this release, the CD label and case designs can also be downloaded as images that can be used in whichever program is used to create your CD labels and case covers.

Update:
What started as the process of forward-indexing and of making a start on the Dictionary, turned into a major rebuild of the entire Project—to achieve the results desired, have bitten the bullet, bowed to logic, reason and common-sense and begun incorporating Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) into the project (aside–should have done it ages ago). The result is a more consistent look and feel, not to mention a vast improvement in maintainability. There will be further inclusions of CSS in future releases as more is learnt about its use and capacity.
Other more apparent updates included in this release are:
• the first stage of the forward indexing has been completed. Only the Paragraphs have been added at this point (see the ‘Release notes’ for discussion). This index is not intended to replace the A-Z indices, but to supplement, and as a further tool in the understanding of the Most Holy Book.
• the spattering of other links that had slowly accumulated in the ‘Supplementary’ indices have been moved to the main A-Z indices, freeing the ‘Supplementary’ index for its planned future use. A record of which links have been added to the main A-Z indices will be found under ‘Release notes’
• pop-ups have been added to all links in the ‘Notes’ section
• restructured the A-Z indices. Now using indents without bullets
• the text of the Kitáb-i-‘Ahd and the text of Chapter 77 of Some Answered Questions have joined the list of additional texts included (see the ‘Release notes’ for locational information)
• a start has been made on the dictionary (see the ‘Release notes’ for discussion)
• links to release information, navigation instructions, and design considerations have been removed from the ‘Table of Contents’ and will be found instead under the items linked at this level (‘WhatWhy’, ‘Release notes’ and ‘Navigation’)
• removed the link to the two compilations from the ‘Table of Contents’ page. There has not yet been the opportunity during this rebuild to rebuild these texts, and taking into consideration that that part of the project has been put to one side till other higher priority work is completed, it was felt it was better to remove the link than to leave available badly formatted sections.
• change the background to something less dominating.

Update:
An update to the A-Z indices:
• pop-ups have been replaced for all links except those to other parts of the A-Z. For users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer who have left the handling of pop-ups at default, you will be queried at each new session if you wish to allow access to their content - you will need to say ‘yes’ - it is only four mouse clicks and won't need to be repeated unless you leave Internet Explorer
• additional space added to bottom of each page to allow for 1024*768 screen resolution

Update:
After an absence of more than a year for health reasons, discovered that every link in the notes was broken (my own carelessness in the first place). This upload is only of the Notes to the online version, to fix these broken links.
For the same reason, the downloadable version has been temporarily removed. Once the entire project has been checked thoroughly and all errors removed, a new copy of the downloadable version will be made available.
Work has begun on replacing the pop-ups in the indexes, and on creating the indices for the forward indexing.

Date:

Update:
This is not a new version, but a complete rewrite of the last release. Much needed, it has been a long time coming, having been put off again and yet again. This rewrite has:
• reduced the number of pages
• simplified maintenance
• fixed numerous (read “multitudinous”) HTML errors
Just briefly, the pop-ups in the indexes have been removed as part of the rewrite process, and will return in a future update.

Date:
2 Núr 158 BE (6 June 2001)
Update:
The second version of this file. The changes are:
• The compilations Peace and The Promise of World Peace have been included (individual indexes for these documents have not yet been created)
• The ‘Supplementary Index’ has been started, but only the entries for ‘Peace’ have so far been included
• Various small corrections to errors in the HTML have been made.

Date:
8 Jalál 158 BE (16 April 2001)
Update:
The first version of this file. Includes:
• full text of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, including a fully hyper-linked version of the Index at the back
• navigation to direct paragraph, note and Q&A items by either number or opening phrase
• Navigation notes are supplied
The English dictionary, text of the Compilations and historical information are not yet included, are planned for future releases.
